Introduction

5 years ago, the very first QExpo was held in celebration of the 5th anniversary of Quake. Back then, Quake was a pretty old game, but people were still enjoying it and there was a great online community of players, modders, mappers and critics. Who could have predicted that another 5 years on, this community would still be here? Sure, some of our old friends have left the scene for good, but we have new members to keep up the numbers. This is one of the things that most amazes me about the strength of this community - there is still enough passion for a game 10 years old that it not only keeps people playing it, but actually draws more in.

Over the next ten days, I will be updating my booth with a few short articles about Quake, my thoughts on the events of this years QExpo, as well as a couple of new map releases and information on another. If I have time, there will be a few other treats in store, so keep coming back and see what's going on.
