BSP Quake Editor
BSP is back, and it's better than ever! It's faster, crashes less, looks better and has more OpenGL support. It's designed to help you build maps as quickly and easily as possible.

Wait, where did BSP come from after all this time?
I really don't know how to answer this, so how about a story?
It all started around 97/98 when I first started using BSP. As soon as I learned how to make my resolution greater than 640x480, BSP had me hooked. I knew Yahn from the EFNet #level_design channel, and things were good for a while. Then came news that Yahn got hired by Valve and would mostly likely be giving up BSP for good. So the last time I saw him (around the beginning of 2000) I asked him for the source and he gave it to me. He said the code was broken and it required a really old version of Borland C++ to compile. He was very right. After looking at the code for a few days I gave up and burned it to a CD.
Years later, and still playing Quake, I decided to give mapping another try. After messing around with BSP for a little while I realized how so much of its power was lost to its interface, and was disappointed. But THEN, I remembered I had the source packed away somewhere and thought it would be fun and potentially rewarding to build a new version. In earlier 2006 I began reworking the code, and in July, not knowing what possible effect it could have, released BSP .94b.
